I'd be happy to give you Skipper completely for free, and to anyone else on this forum who balks at the price. Send me an email at support@tryskipper.com, and we'll set up your account with a free subscription. At this point, your feedback on the app would be even better than a payment.

I know a subscription can seem onerous, but I think the amount of time, money, and direct monthly costs we put into Skipper would really surprise people. Not just the fact that we continually work on the app itself, but also fees we pay to Wunderground, MapBox, and CalTopo, costs to serve charts, and costs to store photos and other data in our cloud, forever, for back-up and syncing between devices.

I can say this - we put tremendous effort into Skipper, anyone who emails us is going to hear back, and Skipper 1.1 is in the works.
