• Planning my Bahamas cruise part 2 (with paper charts )-
  • Do the Abacos first
    • With that 6.5' draft the Abacos will be more than challenging
      • No forward looking, and a conservative skipper...
        • I'd say Cat Island is definitely worth a visit...

      • Is the weather improved in Feb compared to Dec? Or about the same?

    • The Crooked/Acklins district is one of my favorite spots in all of the Bahamas...
      • It does look kind of shallow. What about the Berry Islands?
        • followed a boat with 6 1/2 foot draft into Frazier Hogg a few years ago
          • I think a draft of 6.5 feet in the Berry's would not be a whole lot of fun ...

            • Yeah- he found that out. Tartan 41, tall rig. Single hander to boot
              • With 4' draft, I still went aground through a tide change in the Berrys.
                • lol- I take the conch outta the shell pretty quickly- you can peel 'em-grin
            • With that being said .... don't let a 6.5 draft ...
              • Oh I plan on going, its a matter of prioritizing the large area...
