scare you away from the Bahamas. We often travel with a custom Hood Little Harbor 80 footer who hails from there, she has no problem whatsoever, her draft has to be at least 7-8 feet. There will be places you won't go and things you cannot do. Like Hog Cay Cut, the Berry's and as Jon says the Bight of Acklins. But Crooked and Acklins offers up plenty of great places and enough protection without getting all the way up inside the Bight, which isn't the best part of those islands anyway IMO. Landrail is wonderful, as are the anchorages on the north end (generally a late spring thing after the Fronts have gone). Salina Point and Castle Rock area are incredible, you will be able to get in and anchor no problem around the Fish Cays, and if/when protection is needed, you'll find that inside at Long Cay. You will not have any problem in the Bahamas with your draft, you may not be able to tuck in as close as some others, but don't let that influence your decision. Cheers, John
