Always my biggest fear when running a high-end boat with complex systems, that it could be some Latest & Greatest 'Feature' that does me in...

Here's another amazing example of another delivery captain who may have suffered the consequences of an astonishingly poor feature built into the boat... This Seaward 46 was written off after going on the bricks recently:

"It was reported that the Captain was delivering this vessel from FL to VA, when he was in some rough seas and the engines quit due to water in the fuel. The Captain attempted to sail into port with just the jib but he put into shallow water and went aground..."

Scroll thru the pics in this link, amazing... That someone would pay in excess of $500K for one of these things absolutely boggles the mind...

But this one here, showing the placement of the fuel tank vents, tells you all you need to know about how seawater might have contaminated the fuel... (grin)

UFB... Shit, why don't they just put them BELOW the waterline, for chrissake ?
