That's one beauty of a big boat
In Response To: Getting off at the end? ()

Everything stays on the boat except for what will fit on one medium bag for each of us. Steve mentioned his wifes hair dryer but why not have 2 of those as well.

The other and more important part of schlepping was the fact that when we moved on the boat it was for 4 or 5 months so except for a favorite food, any new favorite clothes and the computer junk there was nothing else. We could never provision for the whole time so we never provisioned with food. When we arrived at the boat and were cleaning her up we would purchase provvisions over a few days with local food making it easy. Usually provision for only a couple of weeks finding it fun to change diets by shopping in some local small 3d world market when we could find one.

All this was based on the fact that the boat was always some other place or country so what we couldn't carry to the 'ticket counter' in one run wasn't going. We'd get it there or not have it.

We'd leave to the boat for months and take a day to pack.

Forgot,, there were always a few boat items (mostly mechanical) that were only available in the US so they had they're own bag with customs list. That bag was also part of what the 2 of us could carry at one time.

I think cruising for only a week would be a lot more work than cruising for months.
