Just bought some wood at HD.

() The 3/8 ply was just that - but had to go down in the pile to get a flat one. The 2x4s were something else - worked hard to find 5 straight ones, and it turns out a couple of them had twists that I didn't notice. Disappointing experience. HD calls the 2x4s 'white wood' - perhaps 'snake wood' or 'worm wood' would be a better description.

- No, most US plywood is junk, good for houses only.

- Either one, but HD is worse. I buy at a REAL lumber yard, and last I bought, was actually cheaper
