I have quite a few parts from a Catalina 30 that lost it's keel off Matagorda Island

() some years ago. The boat washed ashore on the island, there is no reasonable way to get there with vehicles. Boat was stripped, and the hull burned on the beach.
I used two of the ports in a rebuild of another boat. Still have the masthead fitting and two more ports, plus a few odds and ends.

- Exactly. That's why I only fly on biplanes. If one wing fails the other kicks in. Technology.... humbug!

- A friend just hit a rock on his First and had some real problems.

- Good question. I can see structural fin keel damage in a grounding, but a full loss, in the water?
