on the Rudder Feedback unit that Ray Marine gave you? It should be something like 2 ohms hard to port, 6 ohms hard to Starboard and 3 ohms mid ship. I don't know the actual numbers but it would read something like that. If it's close to what they say it should be then it's a non starter, not your problem. There should be three wires. Connect across two of the wires and get the reading, connect across another pair and get a reading then across the other. A to B, B to C and C to A. If you move the resistor in and out you should see the value change. If you remove it from it's position for any reason, mark it first because it will be part of the system set up and you don't want to have to start over from scratch.
