Thanks for the input. It doesn't appear that they have a sprocket drive. Also, I don't want to engineer the steering system from scratch. If I could get a part from Whitlock (or even a new motor of the same type) I would, but they don't offer that and don't make my model anymore. So I'm looking at alternatives. I started to go down the road with a Raymarine type 1 drive but realized due to motor speed I'd have to change the upper sprocket also (at the top of the pedestal) and that is a major issue for a lot of reasons. So it appears that Jefa's sprocket drive motor would work with my current gearing and is as close to a drop-in replacement as I can find. Phil at PYI knows my Whitlock pedestal and seems to be offering good guidance. If I replace the motor it will be Jefa.
