We all need a humbling experience now and then. Hey at least you got another good story to tell, from it.
Looking at the iPad from the comfort a plush chair in my living room, I happened to check the weather buoy in Nantucket Sound last night around 11:00 pm, and it was reading 45 gusting 60k with 8 foot seas. The Doppler radar was also showing bands of red and orange precipitation density at the same time. Not a good place to be. I thought of you, knowing you were nearby. Interestingly, the grounds stations in your area were showing much quieter readings, but those privately owned reporting stations are always of suspect quality and mounting position.
Your self assessment left out another consideration, and that was you COULD have left home after the storm passed. Had the storm veered slightly from its forecast track, you might have ended your story badly. But you would have kept your schedule.
