Now that we are heading foreign it is 230' chain
In Response To: How much of your rode is chain? ()
When we cruised for 20 yrs in the pacific northwest we carried 50' of chain. Rope is stretchy for keeping shock loads from the anchor in a big blow when chain cantinary goes away. My reason for chain now is concern over chafe on underwater coral etc that was not an issue in PNW. I use a snubber now but with short chain the snubber is built in. Just my highly biased opinion!
