Even the latest CPs are not big enough/fast enough to do much visualization. And a Mac (or even PC) has a much better/quicker user interface when it comes to entering or editing waypoints and routes. Then I upload them to the onboard chart plotters to navigate. Some days the route might just be an end waypoint. I still use it because you can see distance to go, ETA, etc. Other days there might be many intermediate waypoints - depends on the route taken and navigational hazards. If I am just going across the Bay that I know well, I don't bother with any of that.
