Pixels, paper, they both work. 
In Response To: I don't think rocks move around much ()
My old paper charts went to good use. My son called me and asked, "Dad, do you have any charts of Penobscot Bay?" He and his friends have been sailing around our area in an old 22' sailboat, with no charts, for a few years(you can call me a bad Dad, but I made sure they had life preservers-they all have cell phones 
)
Why the sudden change? They wanted to find a party on Vinalhaven. Ha! Finally a reason to 'navigate'! "Charts are in the garage", I also told him to download Navionics free chartware. They found the party!! I'm excited, a navigator is born!
The debates were silly. Paper charts only, and the new Video Captain,-are both - still hitting rocks.
