I'd post something on the Bristol Owners' site. In fact, you might just register there.

The coaming isn't too friendly to sit on and shift your bottom forward to the winches ;^))).

I think the self-tailers are clearly a good idea.

I think an autopilot THAT WORKS is also a good idea.

Do you have Datamarine instruments (depth, speedo, wind), etc. ? Those would have been the norm in the 70's. (Our Pearson 35 which was built in '79 had them. Great for their time. Simple, durable, etc. -- But, life moves on....)

How long have you had the boat? What sails do you have? What sort of singlehanding (as Brian asked above) do you want to try? (A "stolen" couple of hours, here and there, or?)

In Maine, I couldn't imagine not having a suit of instruments, plotter, and radar, to help with serious cruising of those waters. But then I'm not from the land of fog, rocks, sporty currents, and lobstah pots. :^))) I'm a wooosss.
