my emergency tiller is 8 ft long
In Response To: Folding or not, when not in use it's still in the middle of the cockpit, like an elephant in a tent, on a boat that ()

It has to reach over an aft cabin to the center cockpit. I fitted it only once just to see what it's like. Never sailed with it.
