Put the regular push button switches near the winch in a position so you could use your toes leaving both hands free, then added the toggle switch at the helm.
Once you loaded one of 5 control lines on the winch you could stand behind the wheel and do whatever task was loaded.
It was really nice. If the main halyard was loaded you could stand behind the wheel, look up through the clear window in the bimini and watch the main rise with only a finger on the switch. It was particulary useful getting the main past the lazyjacks as you could steer the boat as needed to keep the battens from catching. All from the helm.
