The danger is getting to the sheet winch on the cabin top.

I have the same set up. But my wheel is a bit more forward and I can reach-dump it while holding the wheel.

I wonder the wisdom of these electric winches, until you absolutely need them. In Todd's case, he has a shoulder injury. But for most of us, a two speed winch is a pretty easy thing to operate(if a little slow), and valuable exercise in a very sedentary sport. I worry my balance/mobility on the boat as I get older. So I try to do a lot of movement, winching, rowing, etc. Falls on a boat(like anywhere) become more of a danger as you age

I'm in the use it or lose it camp when it comes to sailing. Like climbing stairs and stair lifts. Doing the former, put's off the latter.

My boat can cause a bit of exercise in a sail. Raising the centerboard 50 swings, is an aerobic exercise and you could do it several times a day. My wife who is in great shape, gets winded at about 40 turns. But she likes raising the board to eliminate, 'Bingo Wave'.
