Wash DC, then to Annapolis, and all through the Florida Keys and Bahamas. I've been anchored ( with a bunch of chain ) in 75 knot winds. And only ONCE has it failed to set. That was off the Berry's Island Club at Frazier Hogg Cay, and the cruising guides specifically warned the bottom there was hard scoured-- we took a mooring.
Of course I also carry a folding Northill for those times when I HAVE to anchor in a grass area, which wasn't often, and I carry a Hi Tensile Danforth for those times when I anchor Bahamian moor.
I wouldn't mind one of the newer anchors like the Manson, but I trust my Claw
