Hey Steve,
...for GOOD OLD BOAT, if they went to publishing an issue every month... Somehow, I doubt those numbers would work very well for them... (grin)
I also wonder how many have actually read the BOTY review of the Gunboat 55. I thought Herb did an excellent job acknowledging the 'absurdity' of their choice of a boat that is obviously only within reach of the top percentile of the Top One Percent... But the decision of the judges appeared to be unanimous, the boat was head and shoulders above the others in its category, something nice to hear about an American built boat vs. a couple of high quality imports... Hell, sometimes ROAD & TRACK or MOTOR TREND really is compelled to select a Ferrari or Bugatti Veyron over a car for Everyman because, well, it really WAS the most outstanding automotive offering of the year... (grin)
Again, what really says more about where we are today, is the fact that their Import Boat of the Year - the Jeanneau 349 - is now technically considered to be, along with everything else under 35 feet, a "POCKET CRUISER"...
best regards,
Jon
