Yep, a little air in the system on a Perkins

and it's all over. I fought an air issue for two years on and off. My wife was going to shoot me. Either me or the boat. I finely just gave up and replaced both the filters and solved the problem but it was just a shot in the dark. It's pretty hard to spend over three hundred dollars on a shot in the dark but I had done everything I could think of two or three times. It would run for weeks while out cruising and then fail for no reason. We would change the filters, put a vacuum gauge on the system, check everything tight and start it up and it would run for an hour and quit. We would do everything again and it would run for a month and quit. I mean there was absolutely no rime or reason. Pulling a deep vacuum on the system never showed up anything. We pulled a vacuum on the fuel system and then attached an empty propane tank to the fuel system and pulled a vacuum on the tank and fuel system at the same time to give it more volume to pull on and get a deeper vacuum and even that didn't show up anything. We replaced everything down to the fuel pick up in the tank except for the filter housings which looked almost brand new. Gee, go figure. It turned out to be one of the filter housings. I never did figure out which one.
