Run from the boom end and back down to your traveler restricted main sheet block. You would keep everything back at the aft end of the cockpit.

You can have two "stoppers on each side which you could run forward with their own "turning blocks" and cam cleats.

You might have to get rid of those wooden blocks, but you'd have a lot less happening back there. :^)))

Look at a standard J/Boat traveler and main control block system.

If you have picture of your boat's stern cockpit, I'll diagram it for you if my description is too poorly stated.
