That's clear. I did look into some old double ended sheet set ups.

In fact Jeremy brought up the idea when I first started experimenting. The nice set up on the racing C&C again requires a ball bearing car which I'm going to go without to keep the seating back there. I looked into boats with similar sized mains with multi part main sheet to do without a winch. To get the purchase, they need to be quite large, multi pulley. And even with the best, I bet I'd be looking for a winch in some conditions on my boat.

All this extra stuff is race priority and definitely required to be competitive, but overkill for how I sail. Plus, these old boats with low aspect mains and heavy wooden booms aren't easy to adapt much of the new sail handling tech.
