Here's a few similar set ups.

These boats are all raced. FIDELIO (Finesterre sistership) is a yawl. It doesn't have a traveler but you can see the mainsheet coming down to deck and turning at the block of the base of the mizzen before heading to the mainsheet winch-mounted on a wood island inside the coaming. Look closely you can see there is a cleat just forward. This is basically what I'm planning with the winch on the other side of the coaming(cleat on outside of coaming) to save space in the cockpit.

Here's another yawl that is raced. This cockpit is most similar to mine - the wheel is aft(note the other two cockpits are wheel forward). This yawl with a control line traveler. The winch, located inside the coamings, looks less handy than my idea. The mainsheet winch is way back there - but as Steve points out, the traveler alleviates some need to get to the mainsheet. It also shows how a control line traveler system takes up the whole aft bench. I like that seating space on my boat with a track that's 3/4" off the deck.

This one is a sloop so the traveler can be outside the coamings(no mizzen mast). Also, the turning block on deck is forward of the traveler, which I don't like(tried that). The mainsheet winch is outside the coamings, my preference.

Here's a question: Why are these three winches located port side? Is that because of a starboard tack preference?
