If it does you might just open the thing up and take it apart.
Our oven stopped working ( only the broiler would work). I noticed that the button for the oven didn't seem right so I took the stove apart and then took the valve (with the red button) apart. I soaked the parts in mineral spirits and put it back together. Works perfect now.
I was a bit afraid I wouldn't be able to put it back the same way but there are only a couple of springs and 3 solid parts so it wasn't too difficult to remember. These days we have the digital camera which helps.
You might try taking those valves apart and cleaning them. After about 20 years they get sticky.
I had to make our oven work. It's the only way to make good brownies.
