I have to agree that it is a weak point in the stove, which otherwise seems nice enough. However it looks to me like the brackets made for Morning Cloud are a great improvement: it depends on a couple of very small looking (10-24?) stainless fasteners loaded in tension. I doubt the replacement brackets are any stronger than the originals.
