We have the same problem with the broiler, and I think I know what's happening. The ceramic broiler element is held in place by two pieces of stainless, one running along each edge, screwed into the oven roof. After about 5 minutes of broiling (about half the toast done) the oven roof sags down so far, that the ceramic breaks. Cool the oven down, push the ceramic back into position and presto! It works for another few minutes. I can't figure out why the roof should cave in like that, except that the inside is heating up more and expanding faster than the outside. But that sounds like a design flaw, and I'd think everybody would be having the same problem. Which, from the responses on this forum, doesn't seem to be the case.
Anyway, off to the internet cafe to call Force 10.
