yes, the broiler element flakes, and yes, Force 10 sends you a new one and claims that they haven't heard from owners like yourself with a similar problem. ok .. how about the oven that goes into thermal runaway .. set it to 400-degrees, only to find nearly 600-degree temps vaporizing your favorite pizza. yes, Force 10 sent me a new unit, and claimed they had *never* seen this problem before.
being somewhat lazy, we've lived with the broiler issue, and darn it, I'm going to spend an entire day or two and replace the controller and thermal sensors. oddly, the piezo ignitors that most everyone claims to fail within the first three months .. keep chugging along. well, not all. I have a three burner, with only two working ignitors! but I feel fortunate.
having said all that. I find great comfort in the level of support I have received. I now have several hundred dollars in hardware to install, and always found an ear to bend when I called customer support. that is to say, I always found someone to talk to without much effort.
I like the stove. my wife hates this stove. there aren't many options, sadly. no complains with the gimbals, and it is built well enough. I wish the top plate next to the burners was enamel, because the first cleaning scratches your brand new shiny stainless.
the stove does make a mean cup of tea however, and looks nice. pizzas cook in half the recommended time, and broiling is overrated anyway!
cheers,
Alain
