Run fore and aft along the coach roof? I wouldn't recommend red oak for those. I'd go mahogany at the least. IMHO....for what that's worth. Isn't there any good house decking material in some lumber yard around? Ipe or mahog or sunthin'? I'd use doug fir before I'd use red oak. IMHO, of course.
