Man, how in the world do they get brightwork to look like that...

I am new at this brightwork game... and while I get the wood and varnish to look pretty good, I continue to have issues with a wrinkling effect that occurs. Not sure why it happens, but it just ruins the nice smooth overall appearance.
And yes it has become obvious that it takes many coats and constant attention to get "the look." It has also become obvious that the "a least 24 hours between coats" is not enough, and varnish wants a bit more time to harden between coats.
