Thinking what an improvement the self tailing winch is today, but that some of the good stuff from 75 years ago, is still useful today.
That's my problem with the two (yes, I have two 
) old reel winches on my mast. I'd replace them but the old boat always needs something that's worn out or broken. They still work, so they continue to be useful, but I treat them with the respect they warrant.
