Summit North Marina on the Canal

should be an OK stop for you, a little shallow but soft going in, a bit of a run-down marina but the bar and grill are nice. Friends told us the marina up the Cohansie River is the same, a little run down but nice folks running it. Other friends who stopped at both Summit North and the Basin on the canal much preferred Summit North. I would not go up the river with wind against tide unless your schedule demands it. Stay in Cape May for a day or two and enjoy the town. I think South Jersey Marina at the south end of the harbor can handle your depth, and they are quite nice, with several nice restaurants less than a block away. You can walk to town and check out the Victorian houses. We tend to stay at least a couple days in Cape May because we like the town, but then I grew up spending summers on the Jersey Shore. The Coast Guard anchorage was fine for us, not as many wakes as you might think because everyone slows down going past the CG docks, can't imagine why. LOL.
