Fridge box access... the beginning of an ugly week!

The Swedes don't need to heavily insulate refrigerator boxes. Fortunately, I have benefitted from the work of other Malo owners and started with their ideas. This first step was cutting a panel under the sink so I could see how much room I had to add insulation. Mark McBride at Miller and Miller Boatyard in Seattle is a refrigeration geek in the best sense. He recommended that I use foam board as much as possible because he found that spray in foam can get saturated as water vapor gets into it and condenses.

I could only reach one hand in at a time and was working blind except for movies and stills made with the iPhone. For adhesive, I used Liquid Nails which is not a fire hazard and is not expensive. I used lots of it and lots of paper towel. I mean lots! ... about one roll per tube of Liquid Nails. Okay, so I'm sloppy, but I do know how to clean up (over the last 40+ years, Susie has educated me on that one).

The scalloped edge is ugly, but the only tool that I could bring to bear successfully was a hole saw. It worked.
