I have a question about the through hulls I can see there

I've seen similar looking valve/through-hulls when looking at (other brand) "higher end" Scandinavian-built boats. If I had seen them on an older/budget boat, I would have thought they just stuck a ball valve (NPT) right onto a through-hull (NPS), which is not cool. But given that these are more expensive, generally better-built boats, I'm figuring it's not that. Could you explain how those are set up?

Context was I was looking at some boats that were a bit toward the higher end of my price range. I saw those valves (or ones that looked similar) and figured that for my own peace of mind I would have to budget replacing them all with what I consider to be "proper" flanged seacocks. That kind of killed it since these boats were priced such that I couldn't add that onto the improvement budget.

But now seeing them on your boat, and knowing you don't have a "budget" or "previous owner improved" boat, I'm thinking that maybe I mis-judged. So I figured I'd ask how yours are set up.
