When we were in Stuart last month we took a drive down to Ft. Lauderdale to spend some time at the show.
I don't think I can ever go to a boat show again as all I saw was self indulgence and waste. So much money spent for stroking the ego. Perhaps I'd feel differently if I knew that along with throwing money at a megayacht the owner also was a philanthropist, had a passion for and supported some noble cause. For the most part self indulgence and noble causes don't go hand in hand (not that it can't happen), so, for the time being all I can see is self indulgence and waste.
Anyone know what Richard Schotte does when he's not spending money on boats like Isobel or Ginger?
