Which pretty much eliminates them from using harbor moorings in most places I'm aware of(more of a zoning dilemma). Plus you're in year round country, I suppose people live on those year round? Like house boats(which are not boats), that looks like a cheaper way to get housing on the water. Sort of like Rikers Island floating jails.
There's a good thread on the Woodenboat forum on shanty boats I've been following. Here in Maine we don't have to worry about year rounders setting up floating towns because of climate, but I wonder about seeing more of the shanty boat idea like the one I posted. I'm not really against it as long as it doesn't mean more good anchoring space is taken up with more moorings. Then again, these things could carry their own,...MOORINGS OH NO!!!!!!!!
