How do you, we, or the Harbormaster "know full well"...

Hi Jerry,

...that CHA-CHA isn't in danger of sinking, or producing a fuel leak, or similar?

Communities all along the coast have had to deal with such derelicts, Charleston is one that first comes to mind... And should one sink in their harbor, guess who gets to foot the bill? Not to mention, guess who might feel the trickle-down from more stringent regulations re the management of the harbor that are always a possibility in the wake of such inconsideration by a single, or small group of sailor?

The local ordinances in this case appear pretty well defined... Frankly, I'm surprised it's taken Newport as long as it has to deal with this boat, but you can bet it will be gone before the summer season is in full swing...

I've always found Newport to be remarkably welcoming to all cruisers, even those like myself doing it on the cheap... I'd hate to see that change, due to the irresponsibility of a guy like "Captain" Littauer...

best regards,

Jon
