I race on a J-105 and while it has a big wheel, it certainly doesn't force one to leave the deck to get around it.

I have however seen other designs, such as Beneteau First series that actually has a groove in the deck and a notch in the lazzerette area to accommodate a very large wheel. Is the J-46 like this also?
