I agree with Jon. The big wheel way aft in the cockpit obviously has some advantages for racing, day sailing, etc., but I've never liked that arrangement for offshore work. Just the extra distance to get back there adds difficulty every time you move back and forth, and then you are much more exposed when things are bad.
