Entering after dark

I wouldn't look at the computer either, in fact the one electronic piece of equipment I have on board is a handheld radio (laptop too but it's never on while under sail). I'd print the maps for your area and keep them like paper charts. (I have no chart plotter either btw). On several occasions I have talked to the marina staff and gotten very specific instructions such as "As soon as you come in,it's the third slip on the left"...only to find that it was quite a bit more complicated than that. Or the famous "It's row B, slip 24." Rows aren't marked and neither are the slips. There have been many times I'd have been thankful for a good map.
