I'm acutely aware of their failings. That's why we have so many backups, redundancies and backup plans. More so than we ever did with paper charts, which is kind of funny when you think about it.

But you did remind me that I have a chart drawer full of dividers, parallel rules, magnifying glass, protractor and even a pencil sharpener although the only pencils on board are mechanical (I so wanted to type "electrical" there).

Looks like we can off-load some weight and make some room! Maybe enough to fit an iPad in there?

And didn't you hear? The magenta line is also going the way of the dodo - paper and electronic.
