Lauderdale's Lake Sylvia, and Miami Beach are like that for me...

Hey Chris,
I always cross over from further south, bypassing the Abacos completely... Lake Sylvia is not quite as convenient as where you are, but with a longer dinghy ride over to the public launch ramp in the canal that leads to the Southport Raw Bar, you're still within walking distance of supermarkets, Sailorman, Bluewater Books, and WM... I really like that anchorage, the pic below was taken a few years ago after a great sail down from Palm Beach, arriving in Lake Sylvia just in time to set up my antenna and tube to watch the Super Bowl...
