When staging for the Bahamas, it's tough to beat the convenience of Miami Beach...

Dinghy up into the canal, everything with the exception of a marine supply store is right there... Over in Miami Beach Marina, however, there's a pretty decent little chandlery, their prices are a bit Gucci, however...

If a front or weather threatens, Sunset Lake is a fantastic spot... Although, in recent years, sounds like one local resident has taken to some pretty extreme measures to discourage visiting cruisers from anchoring there, by playing loud rap music, and attemping to fill the anchorage with a fleet of small anchored boats... Much more to the annoyance of his neighboring residents, apparently...

But when I was in there last a few years ago, it was still a spectacular spot, perched right amongst the Rich and Famous... (grin)
