Our club starts launching one week from tomorrow. The marinas on both sides of us are scheduled to start this Saturday. Last Sunday our basin was still about half frozen, the open water was around the docks and piers we thought we were going to have issues with. It looks like the ice on the floats melted and everything popped back up. I'll be on the work crew tomorrow and find out for sure.
We need to have all the boats in the water by 5/23. Club rules as well as the big Memorial Day shindig. USCG is there, our tall ship shoots cannons if they are in town, we have our cannon as well, boats are blessed, flags raised for the season, etc and so forth. As Commodore Perry's YC they make a really big deal of it. If we have boats in the lot we don't have room for the cars.
All of that said, the only thing I have done is pull the cover and frame. I checked the bent stanchions, they must have installed them on the deck and built the boat around them. No way to get to the backing plates.
