based on your answer I'm thinking that maybe a pro could partially cut them in place, then fill the cuts with welds and polish over the welds. Just to put this in perspective: I had bought my prior boat as a Florida-storm-damaged boat for very little money, and one of the issues was that the bow pulpit was bent in a way that had a major kink. The stainless guy I hired (by reputation and referral from my fiberglass guy) cut out the kinked section and welded in a replacement. The polished welded repair was so good you really couldn't tell it was done unless you were looking for it.
