although most are in my head I guess. We have several non-boating friends that feel we should be out at every opportunity or should just sell the boat. We have boating friends that don't understand why we aren't at the club every evening and weekend and out on the boat? We have friends with cabins around ours that don't understand why we aren't at the cabin every weekend. We have relatives that neither boat or have cabins so have rotating picnics at their houses during the summer and don't understand why we don't go to all of them.
I enjoy my time on the boat, although too limited. I enjoy time at the cabin, same deal. The picnics are not on my list of things to do.
There was a very good article on the last page of either Cruising World or Sail last month that discussed just this situation. It was very well written and made me realize I'm not the only person in the world that has to juggle my free time.
