The dock at the Bluff House in Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas were covered with IPE (bare). After a year the wood was dry enough there were all these little splinters you could pick up if you slide you feet at all across the surface. If you walked gingerly you were ok. I made sure to have some footwear after one experience!

- It IS splintery when working. But after sanding it's smooth and nice, break the edges a bit.
