I know it sits a little proud of my sole which is very narrow, 1 1/2" x 3/4" teak strips. I've never touched it in nearly 20 years.
Here's a teak veneer deck after 15 years. I'm sure it's the original caulk. Caulking looks a bit proud of the teak and the wood appears very dry. When it swells, it must push it up another 1/16th? I think the wood fibers wear off faster than the caulk?
