At least I think so. You don't see it here but on other forums I visit, the "buying a boat to live a board", threads, are rampant these days. No secret why: used boats are cheap! Housing isn't.
There is a glut of boats with enough amenities to be consider suitable for living on. The sailing is often secondary with these new buyers, or not at all. It's like 'living aboard' -is- the adventure(I guess it will be for many of these new boat owners )
I guess I agree that the increase in boat sizes is being driven as much by their low cost as anything. Why buy smaller used boats today? It's not for cost reasons as it was 20 years ago.
