I don't know how we got here, but the trend to pick up used boats to 'live aboard', is startling.

I've spent time in Apalachicola. Don't know about liveaboard.I think I'd look a tad further west

Tied to a dock in East Florida a few years ago, over heard a couple walking the dock saying

The trend is because older, larger liveaboards are cheap
Considered doing that livaboard thing with a cheap boat...
Let's not forget that the sailing mags all push "BIGGER" Can't live on something under 40-45 feet!!
Now performance - driving the new cheese wedge shaped hull - is making sailboats bigger, still.
