- from the builders description. The operative word here being "was". Maybe they saved a little too much weight in that part. Regardless, it does seem like a pretty impatient crew. Given the recent history of the ARC, maybe they need to adopt the regulation used in the Pacific Cup: you must carry on board an emergency rudder, and demonstrate to the Tech Inspector that you can actually steer the boat with it.
